The creation of a new school district is one of the most important decisions our community will face in a generation. It’s a chance to build something better for our children, but it also brings real challenges that demand steady leadership, clear priorities, and a deep commitment to transparency.
Starting a new district means starting fresh. We’ll need to establish strong financial systems from day one, hire the right leadership, building schools to meet growing demand, create policies that attract and retain great teachers, and communicate openly with the public every step of the way. We’ll also be making foundational decisions about curriculum, student support services, special education, and more.
This is a major transition and we have to get it right. That’s why Edon Davenport is running for school board. With a background in grant writing, nonprofit development, and education advocacy, Edon brings the skills and perspective needed to help build a district that puts students first, supports teachers, promotes fiscal responsibility, and earns the trust of the families it serves through honest, transparent leadership.
